Grand Theft Auto IV: Brucie’s Street Races
Unlocked after the mission No.1, Brucie’s Street Races are extremely easy, or quite difficult/impossible, depending on your choice of vehicle.
It is advisable to use the Turismo showroom as your source of thoroughbred vehicles, so you don’t lose one of your rares on the way back to a parking space (it happens).
Once you have your vehicle (or even on your way to it) call up Brucie and ask him to enter you in a race. Remember not to try and elimate your opponents with bullets, you can shoot a few tyres, but too many bullets (or any deaths) and the other racers will drive away, cancelling the race.
At the beginning of each race, drive like a complete prick, spin-out other drivers, force them into obstacles, whatever you can to knock them out of the equation.
If you’re not a good driver, don’t attempt record-breaking times, take it easy and you’ll do fine. Take it too hard and you could well end up wrapped round an obstacle/flaming car with your opponents passing you.
You must come first in each of the 9 different races across Liberty City, once you have, you will gain 2% towards your 100% game completion.
- South Algonquin
- Airport Run
- Dukes Blvd
- South Broker
- Star Junction
- Road to Bohan
- North Alderney
- Elevated (Mid-Alderney)
- South Alderney
However, for the Trophy achievement, you must finish first in a total of 20 races. Once you have completed 20, you’ll receive
Genetically Superior (
).
Note that the mission No.1 is counted as your first race, so you only need to complete an additional 8 for your game completion, and 19 for your Trophy achievement.
If you are finding these races too difficult, there is a glitch that has been known since the release of the game. It is displayed in the following video. (It can’t be done during the mission No.1 as Brucie Kibbutz is sitting in the car with you and won’t answer the phone)
