Grand Theft Auto IV: Assassination Missions
After the mission Truck Hustle (Phill Bell series) these Assassination Missions will become available. An anonymous employer going by the pseudonym “Fixer” will instruct you to get to the payphone in Alderney. Once you take on a contract, a stash of armour and a weapon will be waiting for you just over the fence, if you need or want it, naturally, you should already be well equiped and 100% armour at the beginning is generally more than enough to get you through all of these missions.
There are nine Assassination Missions you must complete if you wish to finish the game.
- Bailing Out for Good
- Dead End
- Derelict Target
- Hook, Line, and Sinker
- Industrial Action
- Migration Control
- R.U.B. Down
- Taken Out
- Water Hazard
They aren’t at all difficult, for the most part, simply make sure you are stocked up on RPG-7′s as well as ammo for your Sniper Rifle, and you’ll be good to go (there is a Gun Shop within 10-20 metres of the payphone). You will be attacking both static and dynamic targets, a load of RPG’s will make short work of both target types.
Once you have completed all Assassination Missions, you will receive 2% towards your game completion, and the Trophy achievement
Assassin’s Greed (
). Gotta love references to other games.
Bailing Out for Good
Your target is exiting a Police Station, simply pull up and take him out, you only need to take out the target for this job to be complete so don’t worry about the other combatants. Your choice of weapon here, you can snipe them, drive-by or simply blow them up. If they make it to their vehicle you’ll need to chase them, if you’re looking to get it done quickly then don’t let them get to that vehicle.
Reward: $3,000
Dead End
The easiest way to do this is to Taxi it to the target’s location, have your RPG ready before you take the Taxi, allowing you to exit and fire, leaving no chance for your target to make an escape. Should they escape, you will need to chase them, eventually being ambushed, so best get rid of them quickly.
Reward: $7,500
Derelict Target
When you arrive at this location, simply use your Sniper Rifle to pick off as many guys as you can, before fighting your way up the building to assassinate the last target. It is highly likely the Cops will hear your gun fire and want to play too.
Reward: $7,000
Hook, Line, and Sinker
For this one, you’ll need to commandeer a boat, then get closer to the target, but not too close. If you spook them, they’ll take off and you’ll need to make chase. Simply get close enough to be able to hit them with an RPG, or snipe them. If you’re not able to kill them first time, just chase after them, shoot at them and you’ll complete the job as soon as they’re dead/their boat explodes.
Reward: $3,000
Industrial Action
You’re going to be fighting a small, untrained army for this one. Take out as many as you can from a distance using your sniper rifle then fight your way to your targets. You will need to head to the top of the building in order to bump them all. Take your time, make use of cover when applicable, take calculated risk and make your hits count.
Reward: $7,500
Migration Control
Another easy job. Your target is above the Booth tunnel, you need to take him out before he escapes. Simply head straight for the helipad (stopping outside the blast radius), pull out your RPG-7 and fire. You can of course use other weapons, but it’s quicker and easier to just blow them up. As soon as the target is dead, Assassination Mission complete.
Reward: $3,000
R.U.B. Down
A deal is going down in Acter Industrial Park. Roll up and take out your targets, if you’re too slow, some scared bikers will take off, so you may want to take out these guys first, allowing you to simply gun down the rest. Of course, the easier way again is to simply launch a few RPG’s their way. Three is a good number to make sure you got them all, if slightly over the top.
Reward: $4,000
Taken Out
Your target is in a convoy, so first make sure your RPG is selected then make your way towards the target. Once you are in the vicinity of their convoy, you’ll need to think ahead as you’re going to ambush them to make this easier. Afterall, why make things more difficult for yourself?
The best way to do this is to follow alongside the convoy, wait for them to begin turning, then pull ahead to the next corner, jump out and hit them. If you’re not quick enough for this, then you’ll just need to look at your map and take a guess where they’re going to go next.
Reward: $3,000
Water Hazard
Your target is on a boat, well within reach of land, so pull up to their location and use either your Sniper Rifle or your RPG to take care of them. Assassino.
Reward: $3,000
Grand Theft Auto IV: Little Jacob’s Drug Deliveries
After the mission “Concrete Jungle”, you will be able to complete courier jobs for Little Jacob, who will call and say he has some work available for you.
Simply go to phone him and select “Jobs”, he will assign you one of ten jobs around the first island.
Once assigned a job (believed to be random with the exception of the final job), there will be a car sitting next to Jacob’s Homebrew Café containing the package. Nine out of ten times, it will be a junker, on the tenth delivery it will be a green and black Huntley Sport (which Little Jacob will give to you as a present), however, it is not at all any different from the other green and black Huntley Sports driving in the Homebrew Café’s local area.
There are different types of drug missions; timed, ambush and sting, they are all self-explanatory.
Timed: Just get there before the timer ticks out.
Ambush: The customers don’t want to pay, wipe them out.
Sting: The cops were watching the customers, escape a two-star wanted level.
- Beachwood City (Timed)
- Cerveza Heights Carstack (Ambush)
- East Island City Tunnel (Timed)
- Meadow Hills (Ambush)
- Meadows Park (Ambush)
- Meadows Park Festival Towers (Sting)
- Outlook Park (Ambush)
- Schottler (Timed)
- Steinway Apartment Tower (Timed)
- Willis Alley (Sting)
Note that as the drugs are in the vehicle, you will pocket them once you enter. With this knowledge, you’re able to exit the vehicle and enter whatever is available, including the car you turned up in. If Junkheaps don’t just cut it for you, bring whatever vehicle you can (a chopper, perhaps? although we haven’t tried it) and you’ll be able to deliver the package quicker than you would with the Junkheap.
Upon completion of the 10 delivery jobs, in addition to the vehicle Little Jacob gifted you (unless you destroyed or ditched it) you will receive 2% game completion and the Trophy achievement
Courier Service (
).
